A woman apparently traveling from Arizona to North Carolina had a close call shortly after noon Thursday on Interstate 40 west of Clinton.
The woman was driving an SUV pulling a U-Haul trailer which tangled with a westbound semi at 12:37 p.m. Fortunately, she was not injured, and even she admitted she was lucky.
 

An inmate of the Beckham County Jail allegedly bit off part of his cellmate’s ear Saturday, Undersheriff Jeff Bilbo confirmed Wednesday.
The alleged biter was Gatluak Wal Chuol, a 28-year-old from Ethiopia, said Bilbo. He apparently has been living in Elk City.
The victim was Isaiah Thomas Lime, also 28, from El Reno.
