Everyone is feeling the impact of higher water bills this summer in Clinton following a 49% rate increase that was implemented last January. But, according to Clinton City Manager Mark Skiles, there may be a silver lining to the city’s rising water costs.

The projected placement of a water disposal well in Acme Brick Park drew heavy criticism at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

Clinton defenders Daniel Lopez (87) and Dawson Ballard go in for the tackle while Kevin Naranjo (38) looks on in Thursday’s game against Lawton MacArthur.

Costly cattle

Clinton Livestock Auction owner Blake Berry estimates there are 30 to 40 percent fewer cattle than there were three years ago in this extended and continuing drought.

After, by his own estimation, 41 years, one month and one week in the pulpit of the First Church of God, Roy Dobbs told his Church Council and congregation Sunday that he is retiring.
